*Marvel has announced that Rick Remender will be taking over the writing chores of secret Avengers with issue #21.1 this February lead by Hawkeye, but which Human Torch are we looking at in the above promo art?

*Also from marvel in February 2012, The secret service by mark Millar (Kick Ass) and Dave Gibbons (Watchmen)!

*A couple upcoming talk show appearances of note: walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman will be sitting down with the ladies of The view on, appropriately, Monday, October 31st (which should be surreal) and Neil Gaiman is currently scheduled to  make his second appearance on Craig Ferguson’s Late Late show later that same evening.

*Geof Darrow’s Shaolin Cowboy, previously published by the Wachowski Brothers’ Burlyman Entertainment, is returning to Dark horse Comics in 2012.

*Marvel has canceled the current Alpha flight title just 2 months after announcing it was upgraded to an ongoing series.

*John Byrne says he’s changing his future plans for his upcoming next men Aftermath because of the recent season finale of doctor Who.

*The FOX Network is developing a TV series based on The Punisher.

*Cartoon Network will debut yet another Batman series, the CGI-Animated beware The Batman, in 2013 as part of its new DC nation block featuring the new green lantern Animated series, young Justice and a series of new shorts. If you haven’t seen it already, here’s the opening scene from he one-hour special premiere of green lantern airing Friday, November 11, at 6pm central.

*Sadly, mark Hamill has retired from doing the voice of The Joker.

*Lots of talk about mark Millar and Tony Harris’ war Heroes being made into a movie, but haven’t heard any mention yet of exactly when the image Comics mini-series will be completed!

*And finally, in the spirit of Halloween, here’s a picture of  a dog dressed up lie and AT-AT from empire Strikes Back (Kind of hard to tell from the picture how the dog feels about it….) and here’s some comic and movie themed Jack O’Lanterns. ( I want the Calvin one!)

Raina Telgemeier’s Ghosts Coming in September

 

Raina Telgemeier, the author and cartoonist behind the best-selling Drama, Smile and Sisters, will publish her highly-anticipated new graphic novel Ghosts this September!

Due to good sales and vital acclaim, DC has announced that there will be a second series of writer/artist Renae De Liz’ Legend of wonder Woman!

DC Comics has announced that issues #9-12 of Bryan Hitch’s chronically late Justice league of America title, plus the Justice league of America annual #1, are cancelled and that they will be “resolicited at a later date”!

Looks like marvel has also cancelled the solicitations for the Star Wars: Rogue One 3-issue mini-series and one-shot meant to be prequels to the upcoming star Wars Anthology film. Hopefully, the comics will still come out after reshoots are completed and the scripts are okayed by Lucasfilm!

IDW publishing is launching a crossover event this September called Revolution which will meld some of their licensed titles including Transformers and G.I. Joe titles, along with new and upcoming series Micronauts, Rom, action Man, and M.A.S.K. into one cohesive continuity.

Bethesda Softworks’ popular game franchise Dishonored is coming to Titan Comics in an all new miniseries beginning in August!

Reportedly, this year’s Oscar winner for best actress (Room) Brie Larson is in talks to portray Captain marvel in the marvel Cinematic Universe!

*After lots of months of lateness ( it was solicited LAST December!) we lastly will be seeing the release of Spawn #200 on Wednesday, January 5.

*Original artist mark Bagley returns to utmost Spider-Man (or as its now called, utmost Comics Spider-Man) with problem #156 in March.

*Boom! Studios is starting a new comic series based on Michael Moorcock’s Elric of  Melnibone this July.

*IDW’s previously revealed Godzilla comic will be co-written by Eric Powell as well as drawn by Phil Hester

*Marvel has revealed that they are starting a new Crossgen Imprint in March as well as will at first be reviving 2 of their titles.

*Merlin is back! season 3 lastly premieres on the SyFy channel on January 7th at 9pm.

*Bill Pullman as well as Mekhi Phifer have joined the cast of the next season of Torchwood.

*Brian Michael Bendis’ Alias comic, which introduced the world to Jessica Jones, is being established as the current marvel Studios TV project.

*Neal Adams returns to the X-Men this August with the 5-issue very first X-Men mini-series.

*This September’s Joe Kubert’s Tarzan of the Apes artist edition is the next in line of  this terrific, original art archive series from IDW.

*For reasons that will be obvious to a lot of moviegoers, marvel is issuing a new printing of the Silver Surver: regeneration of Thanos Softcover. look for it on June 20.

*R.I.P. Ernie Chan as well as Tony DeZuniga. You will both be missed.

*It’s been around for a couple of weeks but, if you missed it, inspect out this humorous “Ren & Stimpy-style” marvel Animated short called Disassembled. much more please!

*The CW has picked up the Arrow pilot for their autumn schedule, however it’s not the Smallville version of Oliver Queen.

*Robert Rodriguez has officially announced a transgression City 2 film for an October 14, 2013 release date!

*Sony has released a 4-minute sequence from the upcoming fantastic Spider-Man movie, in theaters July 3!

*Marvel has announced that they’re still working on a new Hulk TV show, however it doesn’t look great for Jessica Jones or The Punisher.

*There’s going to be a Watchmen toaster!

John Romita, Jr.’s the new artist on Superman

 

It had been rumored recently that John Romita, Jr’s contract with marvel was coming up for renewal and that he was being courted by DC Comics. DC has made it official by announcing that Geoff Johns and Romita will be the new creative team, along with Klaus Janson on inks, on the monthly Superman title beginning sometime this summer. Scott Lobdell has announced that his last issue will be in April!

Artist Graham Nolan will be filling in as artist on Astro City #12 this May. The first person other than Brent Anderson to draw the title in 19 years!

Galactus will not be eating the entire supreme Universe, ’cause marvel is releasing three titles in April!

Dark horse will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo with the release in July of the oversized hardcover benefit book The Sakai Project: Artists celebrate Thirty Years of Usagi Yojimbo. All proceeds will go to Stan and Sharon Sakai!

Chuck Palahniuk is doing a graphic novel sequel to flight Club!
